Born on a zodiac boundary date? Why two websites may give you different Sun signs
If your birthday falls near a sign change, a standard date-range list may not be precise enough. Your Sun sign depends on the Sun’s actual position at your birth, so the year and exact time matter near the boundary.
Popular lists give convenient ranges such as Libra from 23 September to 22 October. The Sun does not enter each sign at midnight on a fixed date every year. Time zones also affect which local date appears on a calendar.
Why the discrepancy happens
One website may round the boundary one way while another uses a different standard list. A more detailed calculator uses the birth year and time. If those details are entered incorrectly, the apparent disagreement can continue even with a good calculator.
Check AM and PM, the birth location and the date format. A place name helps establish the relevant time zone; it is not simply a decorative field on the form.
Are you both signs?
In an ordinary tropical natal chart, the Sun occupies one sign at a particular instant. Being near a boundary does not normally place it in two signs simultaneously. You may relate to descriptions of both for many reasons, including other chart placements and the broad nature of personality descriptions.
It is fine to find a neighbouring sign interesting. Just distinguish that interest from the calculation of your actual Sun position.
What if the time is unknown?
If the Sun stayed in one sign throughout the possible birth-time range, the sign may be clear. If the range spans the ingress, uncertainty remains. Do not invent a time merely to obtain a definite-looking answer.
Look for a birth record or ask family members what they genuinely remember. Tell a practitioner if the time is approximate. A transparent uncertainty is more useful than a precise chart built on a guess.
Once the sign is established, keep the method consistent. Tropical Sun-sign dates and sidereal Vedic placements are different frameworks, so another sign name in a Kundli is not automatically a calculation error.
Does being born on a boundary make someone more powerful?
There is no established basis for that claim. A boundary is a matter of chart calculation, not a ranking of people or their potential.
